It’s easy to sell on Takealot. You don’t have to stress. Check out my other article on why you should sell on Takealot.

To get started, you simply need to input the required information and upload a few documents. Here are the requirements:

· ID number

· Bank account details

· Business registration details (if you want to use your business to trade, and of course, a bank account for the business)

· The only minor annoyance is that you have to print a B-BBEE Exempted Micro Enterprise form and have it signed and stamped at your nearest police station. Here is a copy.

How much will it cost you?

Monthly Subscription Fee

They charge a monthly R400 subscription fee. You can cancel anytime.

Other Fees

· Success Fee: Fees charged on a successful purchase, e.g., for books, it’s 14%.

· Fulfillment Fee: This is the fee they charge to manage processing and delivering your order. They range between R20 (e.g., books) and R360 depending on the size and weight of the product.

· Storage Fees: If your stock performs well in sales, they might not charge storage fees. You also can opt to deliver products to their warehouse (in Johannesburg or Cape Town, or courier to them) only when they sell (this is called lead time orders). However, all products must be sent to them initially so they can be measured, weighed, and cataloged. You can send one of each.

For a detailed breakdown of the fees, click here.

Scared?

Some people are just scared of filling out online forms. If you want a certain result, you have to tuck your feelings in. Go ahead and test it for a month or two. Maybe by month three, you will do well.

I encourage you to sell on Takealot. Read my article on why to sell on Takealot here.
