Born: 20 October 1971 — Long Beach, California, United States of America.

Occupation: Rapper, songwriter, actor, media personality, and entrepreneur.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. — known professionally as Snoop Dogg, previously Snoop Doggy Dogg, Snoop Lion when he sings reggae — is a renowned American rapper and songwriter.

I think Snoop Dogg is the most famous rapper ever.

He became one of the best-known figures of gangster rap in the 1990s.

As a teenager, he often ran into trouble with the law, as he was a member of the Rollin’ 20s Crips gang. In 1989, after graduating high school, he was arrested for possession of cocaine. The next three years saw him incarcerated numerous times.

A freestyle song he had recorded attracted the attention of the producer Dr. Dre, and he was featured on Dr. Dre’s iconic album The Chronic. The single ‘G Thang’ escalated his fame into stardom.

He released his album Doggystyle in 1993 and debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number one.

The same year, he was charged with killing rival gang member, who in fact was shot by his bodyguard. He was acquitted in 1996. That same year, he released Tha Doggfather.

Gangster rap was attracting trouble. His friend and label mate Tupac Shakur was killed in a drive by shooting, and his label boss Suge Knight was indicted for racketeering.

He stopped recording music for his gangster label Death Row in protest for contract unfairness.

He left and went to No Limit Records.

Mr Snoop Dogg has had successful music and celebrity ventures as an entrepreneur and media personality.

I’ve included him in this book for what I deem a great meditative speech where he ‘thanked himself’ for his dedication to work and goodness. The speech is extrapolated in the book.
